Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our skilled nursing facility team. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols while adhering to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques
- Support residents with specialized care needs such as catheter care, wound management, and infection control procedures for infectious disease care
- Document patient observations accurately in medical records and communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding changes in condition or concerns
- Provide compassionate memory care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease by implementing personalized care plans
- Assist with transfers, repositioning, and mobility exercises to prevent falls and promote independence
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care settings like ICU or Level I Trauma Centers when necessary for complex patient needs
- Maintain a safe environment by following infection prevention protocols and safety guidelines including the use of Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification with current state licensure required
- Prior experience working in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities preferred
- Experience in diverse healthcare environments including hospital medicine, ICU, emergency medicine, or post-acute settings is highly valued
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) certification required
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with seniors, individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs
- Strong communication skills coupled with a caring attitude and attention to detail
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks involving patient transfers and mobility assistance safely
