What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Infant Teacher position at Coddington Learning Center?
We are a small childcare facility that is able to provide big center opportunities in a home like environment. We are looking to add a Full-Time Lead Infant Teacher to our team! The hours would be Monday through Friday 8:15 until 5:15 with a 1 hour lunch break. Our center participates in Rooted In Relationships to help promote the development of healthy social skills as well as Step Up to Quality. (Step 3)
Pay will be based on level of education and experience in Early Childhood Education
*Must be able to lift infants as well as ability to sit on the floor and interact with the infants.
Must pass Background Checks as required by the State of NE
Responsibilities and Duties
- Diapering and feeding infants (bottle and spoon)
- Follow the program schedule
- Create and carry out activity plans
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children
- Observe each child to help them improve their social skills and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other positively
- Communicate with parents regularly
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
- Maintain a safe environment for the children
- Playing and interacting with the children.
- Complete 24 hours of in-service yearly. (CLC would pay for these in-service hours)
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
- A balance between a creative mind and a practical understanding.
Preferred:
- A minimum of 1500 clock hours in a group childcare setting
- CDA or Early Childhood Education courses
