The Senior Human Resources Benefits Specialist will oversee the administration and processing of leave of absence and ADA accommodation requests across our U.S. offices. This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of the Leave and ADA processes, ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations (including NY, CA, DC, and DE), while delivering exceptional support to both employees and the management team.
Responsibilities:
- Administer new hire onboarding and offboarding of attorneys
- Conduct new hire benefits orientation for attorneys
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, qualifying life event changes, and benefits education
- Coordinates and processes all types of leave of absence including: FMLA, Medical Disability (Short Term and Long Term), state-specific Paid Family Leave, New York Paid Prenatal Leave, Workers’ Compensation
- Coordinate requests for ADA and Pregnant Workers Fairness Act Accommodations, communicates with management team, and engages in the interactive process with employee
- Responsible for monitoring and administering claims, report generation, and communication with employees, managers, insurance carriers, medical personnel, and attorneys
- Serves as a point of contact and liaison with HR, Legal Personnel and Payroll department to communicate payment eligibility for employees on an approved leave
- Maintains accurate records and provides assistance to employees to ensure effective use of benefits
- Ensures that all leave requests are handled fairly and in accordance with local and federal laws
- Be proficient and stay updated on relevant labor laws and regulations regarding different types of leaves
- Work collaboratively with other departments to support all employee needs
- Identify and develop best practices and process improvements as necessary, providing excellent client and employee experience
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of Human Resources and Benefits experience in a law firm environment
- Previous hands-on Leave of Absence (LOA) and ADA Accommodations experience
- Previous employee benefits administration systems experience (ADP preferred)
- Knowledge of state and federal HR compliance
- Bachelor's Degree required
Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
