Commercial Account Manager
Classification: Exempt
Reports To: Branch Manager
Position Summary
The Commercial Account Manager drives revenue growth by managing key commercial accounts and developing new business in erosion control, special projects, and seeding. This role focuses on building long-term partnerships with developers, landscape firms, and other commercial clients. The position is responsible for identifying new opportunities, completing RFPs, and ensuring project scopes are clearly defined through kickoff meetings and collaboration with estimating and operations teams.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all assigned commercial clients.
- Regularly engage with developers, general contractors, landscape companies, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand needs and identify upcoming opportunities.
- Maintain strong relationships through consistent communication, responsiveness, and proactive support.
- Participate in kickoff meetings to confirm scope, areas, and expectations for new projects.
Business Development
- Identify, pursue, and secure new erosion control and seeding opportunities within assigned territory.
- Actively network through industry associations, pre-bid meetings, trade groups, and existing client referrals.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline, including both short-term and long-term prospects.
- Represent Ethoscapes professionally at industry events and meetings.
RFP & Proposal Management
- Review and complete RFPs, RFQs, bid invitations, and proposal requests for hydro-seeding, hydro-mulching, slope stabilization, and other erosion control solutions.
- Work collaboratively with estimators to ensure accurate takeoffs, pricing, and scope development.
- Prepare, deliver, and follow up on proposals and estimates.
- Support contract development, renewals, pricing structures, and change order opportunities.
Internal Coordination
- Ensure accurate and complete handoff from sales to operations by communicating scope, schedules, and project details.
- Collaborate with estimating, field supervisors, and office staff to ensure alignment and timely execution.
- Assist with site walks, information gathering, and scope clarification when needed.
Reporting & Administrative
- Maintain up-to-date client information, activity tracking, and proposals within CRM software.
- Provide regular forecasting, pipeline updates, and client status reports to management.
- Prepare summaries or reports as needed for internal review or client presentations.

- Understanding of erosion control practices, hydro-seeding/hydro-mulching, drainage, slope stabilization, and landscape/land development workflows (or ability to learn quickly).
- Ability to read site plans and identify project scopes at a high level.
- Comfortable attending job walks and kickoff meetings to confirm areas and requirements.
