What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Prep position at Cocos Irb Llc?
- Wash, chop, slice, portion, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and prep lists
- Assist with basic cooking tasks as directed by the kitchen manager or head cook
- Label, date, and properly store food items following food safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness of prep areas, equipment, and utensils
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health code regulations
- Assist with stocking and organizing walk-ins, coolers, and dry storage
- Dispose of waste properly and assist with end-of-shift cleanup
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation
Previous kitchen or food prep experience preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow instructions, recipes, and prep lists accurately
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40–50 lbs
