What are the responsibilities and job description for the Park Staff - Ramada Operations - Parks and Recreation (0426) position at Coconino County?
Under general supervision facilitates the Ramada rental program at multiple parks and performs a variety of semi-skilled manual labor in the maintenance of County parks and open space properties (i.e. buildings, grounds, equipment, etc.); responsible for general maintenance and care of park amenities (i.e. restrooms, playgrounds, Ramadas, landscapes, etc.); acts as a helper for a craftsman or skilled trades worker; operates a variety of hand and power tools; carries out park cleaning and other duties as assigned.
Please note: This is a temporary full-time position with an end date of September 30, 2026.

- Performs manual labor
- Cleans and maintains County facilities and parks
- Identifies and reports needed repairs
- Performs grounds maintenance, including weeding, mowing, landscaping, graffiti removal, painting, and trash removal
- May perform minor repairs
- May assist with special events
Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license. Final job offer will be contingent upon a satisfactory 5-year motor vehicle report.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous work experience with a Parks department; two years of general maintenance experience; two years of customer service work experience. Experience with minor repair maintenance; and park and recreation experience or background with events.
The ideal candidate is able to work weekends and holidays; has experience working with customer service; experience with hand and power tools; experience with janitorial and cleaning procedures of the position.
This position is non-exempt from overtime.

- Basic park and facility maintenance and custodial practices
- Operation of power and manual tools
- Operation of light landscaping and maintenance equipment, including weed trimmers and backpack blowers

- Tools, materials, methods, and practices used in park and facility custodial and maintenance work, including but not limited to weeding, trash removal, graffiti removal, painting, restroom cleaning, and minor repairs
- Occupational hazards and safety precautions for storing and handling hazardous materials
- Ability to:
- Work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Work extended hours out of doors in varying weather conditions
- Perform heavy manual labor
- Effectively handle lifting objects weighing up to 60 pounds
- Operate various types of tools and equipment safely and efficiently
