- Processes and distributes confidential documents
- Manages case files
- Attends, prepares documents and summarizes decisions reached in court hearings
- Processes and distributes judicial orders and legal documents at the direction of the Judge
- Updates Court and Judge's calendars based on court orders
- Schedules court hearings and trials
- Processes case information into software system
- Completes minute entry from court hearings and trial proceedings
- Certifies documents
- Coordinates deliberation rooms for Jury Trials
- Prepares and transfers bind over felony cases to Superior Court
- Assists in training staff
Three years of progressively responsible clerical work: OR
Associate's degree in a related field and one year of progressively responsible clerical work experience in a Justice Court environment; OR
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Considerable knowledge of:
-Use of modern office practices, procedures and equipment
-Justice Court terms and definitions
-Business English and spelling
Working knowledge of:
-Arizona statutes and Rules of Procedure
-Court and legal terminology and procedures
-Computer applications
Ability to:
-Make decisions in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures
-Maintain confidentiality
-Perform complex paperwork processing and calendaring tasks with accuracy in courtroom environment
-Meet deadlines
-Accurately maintain records and prepare reports
-Work safely and support the culture of workplace safety
-Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public
-Follow written and verbal instructions
-Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
