Typical Duties
- (Illustrative Only)
- Provides closely structured supervision of offenders
- Monitors offenders at multiple sites
- Prepares, collects and maintains reports, supervision information
- Coordinates and cooperates with criminal justice agencies
- Performs urinalysis and breath testing, searches, employment contacts, arrests, transportation and detention of violators
- Prepares and presents court testimony
- Participates in planning and evaluating offender progress
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in behavioral science or related field; OR
- One year experience as a surveillance officer; OR
- Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Must obtain an Arizona driver's license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation and criminal history check relevant to employment.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must achieve a certification of completion/proficiency of 40 hour Defensive Tactics Academy with annual 8-12 hour review. If SO chooses to be armed, must attend and pass 40 hour Firearms Academy and maintain a 20 hour annual "shoot" for recertification purposes; complete a minimum of 16 hours of on-going education within the judicial system certified by the Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET).
