Coconino Community College is creating a pool of interested instructors to teach and train students in construction-related trades. Instructors may teach courses, labs, and hands-on training in one or more of the following areas:
This position may include classroom instruction, laboratory instruction, hands-on demonstrations, curriculum development, student assessment, and collaboration with industry and educational partners.

- Deliver high-quality instruction in assigned construction trade disciplines.
- Demonstrate industry-standard techniques, tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Develop and maintain lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with program outcomes.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe learning environment and ensure compliance with OSHA and industry safety standards.
- Monitor and maintain laboratories, shops, and training equipment.
- Integrate current industry practices, codes, regulations, and technologies into instruction.
- Support student success through mentoring, advising, and career guidance.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, employers, and community partners to support workforce training initiatives.
- Participate in professional development activities to maintain current industry knowledge and instructional effectiveness.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Utilize the Learning Management System (Canvas) to at least the minimum threshold as indicated in college procedures.
Preferred
- Journeyman, Master, or equivalent trade certification/licensure in a related field.
- Previous teaching, training, apprenticeship, mentoring, or workforce development experience.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- OSHA 10, OSHA 30, NCCER, or other industry-recognized certifications.
- Associate's degree, technical certificate, or higher in a construction-related field.
