Machine Operator/Packer

Position Summary

Cocoa Ridge is looking for a Machine Operator/Packer who will be responsible for accurately selecting products from warehouse inventory and preparing them for shipment in a safe, efficient, and organized manner. This role is essential to ensuring orders are fulfilled correctly and on time, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Cocoa Ridge is newly formed holding company for Kargher Chocolate, a 40 year old manufacturer of chocolate chips and nonpareils. The company also manufactures products for Zitner’s Fine Confectioners, a Philadelphia Easter tradition. The role will be based in the company’s headquarters in Hatfield, PA.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain bagging machine filling it with proper wrappers and chip sizes
• Fill boxes with products ensuring accurate weight
• Visually inspect product and manually pack bags of product into boxes to get them ready for shipment
• Verify item accuracy, quantity, and condition against order documentation before packing
• Pack products securely using appropriate materials (boxes, tape) to prevent damage during transit
• Label packages correctly with shipping labels and any required documentation
• Stage completed orders in designated shipping areas and coordinate with shipping team for dispatch
• Maintain accurate inventory by reporting discrepancies, damaged goods, or low stock levels to supervisors
• Keep work area clean, organized, and in compliance with safety standards
• Assist with receiving, put-away, and cycle count activities as needed
• Contribute to overall plant cleanliness and maintenance
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, food handling guidelines, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English
• Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 35 lbs repeatedly throughout a shift
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

• Prior warehouse, fulfillment center, or distribution experience (6 months)
• Forklift or pallet jack certification (sit-down or stand-up)

Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking for up to 8–10 hours per shift
• Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items up to 35 lbs unassisted; team lift for heavier items
• Working in a warehouse environment subject to varying temperatures and noise

What We Offer

The position is for 10 hour shifts Monday through Thursday. The hourly rate for the role is between $22-$25/hr., depending on experience. Cocoa Ridge offers medical, dental, and vision plus profit sharing. The company offers 10 days of paid vacation time as well as 7 paid holidays.
