Job Description

The Manager – Software Engineering acts as the overseer of the software applications developments team and ensures its members follow the standards, processes, and goals of UNITED.

What Your Day Will Look Like

• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the UNITED policies and applicable laws
• Interview, hire, and train associates
• Plan, assign, and direct work
• Appraise performance
• Address complaints and resolve problems
• Builds positive associate morale
• Manages UNITED’s software development initiatives
• Coordinates the work of multiple teams, including development, QA, version control, CICD pipes, and technical documentation where needed
• Ensures final, configured solution meets the needs of the business as well as the needs of specific business units as described by ERP analysts
• Has authority for personnel decisions and may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural changes
• Determines business requirements, identifies, and evaluates solutions, evaluates business value, cost/risk, and oversees implementation and ongoing maintenance of backend development
• Ensures DevOpsSecs procedures are defined and followed by teams, including CICD pipes, Version Control, Agile Project Management
• Stay up to date with latest trends in technology with focus on Microsoft Azure technologies and provide strategic input on optimal path for UNITED’s development team
• Manage and maintain relationships with external consultants
• Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
  
  

What You Need To Succeed

• Minimum age 18 years old
• Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
• Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
• Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
• Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in IT or math from four-year College or university and 5 years of technical application support or development; or 10 or more years of technical application development
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to solve complex problems
• Broad experience in business solutions
• Ability to travel up to 15%
• Microsoft Azure Technologies experience is required
• Strong analytical skills with capabilities to lead team through example
• Capability to research new technologies and flexibility to utilize optimum technology to solve complex business problems
• Broad experience in object-oriented programming (C# preferred), CICD pipes, ETL, Database design, API (REST preferred) development, MS Power Platform and ADF required
  
  

Physical Requirements

Position will be required to comply with the CCBCU Personal Protective Equipment Program. Position is required to wear safety toed shoes when performing the following tasks: Operating Powered Industrial Equipment or Working in an Area where Powered Industrial Equipment is in use, Fleet Maintenance, Working with Palletized Product, Use of Hand Trucks/Dollies to Deliver Product, Cooler Services, etc.
