Position:Strategic Business Development Representative

Location: In-office (with occasional travel)
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a researcher-prospector who can identify need within medium and large organizations. In this role, you will be trained to map organizational structures and translate institutional news—including mergers, leadership changes, and compliance shifts—into high-priority buyer intent opportunities for our Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) solutions. This role is ideal for someone eager to build business acumen through thoughtful research and strategic outreach.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct strategic outbound prospecting across target market segments using account research, institutional signals, and tailored messaging

  • Engage with prospective customers to understand their current contract management processes
  • Educate prospects about our products and services
  • Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across multiple industries

· Utilize research-led outreach methods including tailored email campaigns, strategic calling, institutional monitoring, social platforms, and targeted online research

· Perform deep-dive research into prospect accounts to identify key contacts, opportunity windows such as new executive hires, and relevant compliance mandates

  • Qualify leads by identifying needs, challenges, and fit

· Secure discovery meetings with senior stakeholders based on relevance, timing, and institutional context

  • Accurately document all prospect interactions and activities in CRM

· Meet or exceed weekly and monthly discovery, research, and pipeline development goals with an emphasis on message quality and opportunity relevance

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date pipeline data

· Support strategic outreach efforts by translating relevant institutional developments into compelling, context-aware messaging across email and social platforms

  • Provide a high level of professionalism and customer service

· Participate in virtual or in-person events to deepen market understanding, identify institutional signals, build executive-level rapport, and generate/nurture leads

  • Assist with administrative tasks and support team initiatives as needed

Qualifications

· Previous experience in sales, customer service, or business development (SaaS/tech experience preferred but not required)

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Strong written communication skills

· Ability to summarize information clearly

· Highly motivated with a results-driven mindset

· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

· Comfortable with thoughtful cold outreach grounded in research, relevance, and a disciplined approach to account planning

  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tools is a plus but not required

· High coachability and demonstrated ability to learn, internalize, and replicate a defined strategic outreach methodology

· Willingness to learn and grow within a sales organization
