Position Summary
The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring guest rooms and public areas are cleaned, sanitized, and prepared to Cobblestone Inn & Suites standards. This position plays a key role in creating a clean, comfortable, and welcoming experience for every guest. Housekeepers are expected to work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and attention to detail.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare guest rooms for arriving and stayover guests.
- Strip beds and replace all linens, including sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers, and towels.
- Make beds neatly according to hotel standards.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, showers, tubs, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
- Dust, vacuum, mop, and disinfect all room surfaces.
- Empty trash and replace liners.
- Restock guest room amenities and supplies.
- Clean kitchenettes when applicable, including countertops, sinks, refrigerators, microwaves, stovetops, and cabinets.
- Wash and properly put away any dishes or cookware left in guest rooms.
- Open, inspect, clean, and properly close all pull-out sofa beds, replacing linens and returning them to the sofa position after use.
- Report maintenance concerns, damaged items, or missing inventory to management promptly.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and chemical handling procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping carts, storage rooms, and laundry areas.
- Assist with cleaning public areas as needed.
- Work as a team to ensure all rooms are ready for guest arrivals.
Performance Expectations
- Complete standard guest rooms within 30 minutes while maintaining quality standards. Larger suites or heavily soiled rooms may require additional time as approved by management.
- Maintain excellent attention to detail and consistency in room presentation.
- Follow hotel cleaning procedures and checklists.
- Provide friendly and professional interactions with guests when encountered.
- Maintain attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently bend, kneel, squat, twist, and reach overhead.
- Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Push housekeeping carts throughout the property.
- Perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift.
- Safely maneuver mattresses, linens, furniture, and pull-out sofa beds.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or hotel experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
