Head Housekeeper

Purpose of Position: To ensure that a well-trained staff provides clean rooms for the guests.

Essential Functions(but not limited to):

• Train the procedures and techniques required for room cleaning, laundry, breakfast, and lead housekeeper duties.
• Provide clean rooms and public areas for guests and perform vacant clean room checks daily for arriving guests.
• Demonstrate good communication skills.
• Perform basic math.
• Assist in taking inventory and order all supplies for use by the staff to complete their jobs.
• Implement all company policies and procedures for safety and security.
• Work with management to assist in(upon approval from management) selection, discipline, and discharge of employees.
• Inspect the housekeeping staff and guest rooms daily, to determine if they are on duty and check the quantity and quality of their work.
• Supervise all housekeeping employees.
• Maintain operations of laundry and equipment.
• Ensure that all maintenance is done on a timely basis.
• Report all liability and employee injury cases.
• Schedule employees and assign days off. Conduct daily staff meetings, assign room attendants to their regular duties or any special assignments.
• Maintain adequate supplies in all stockrooms.
• Maintain lost and found items.
• Balance housekeeping reports at the end of the day and resolve any discrepancies with the front desk.
• Oversee general cleaning of public areas.
• Oversee and assist with the quarterly and deep cleaning duties and maintaining logs.
• Display complete knowledge of laundry and room cleaning procedures.
• Assist in cleaning guestrooms.
• Work closely with supervisors and maintenance team to report any maintenance or repair items.
• Maintain cleanliness of all interior and exterior public spaces.
• Other duties as assigned by the manager.

• Must have a flexible schedule to include weekends and evenings.
• Good organizational skills.
• Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time, including the use of stairs.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, and reach objects above head and below knees.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., move, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing lessor equal to ten pounds without assistance.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
