Cobblestone Fruit is looking for an experienced Senior Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations across multiple sites and affiliated entities within our Farming and Fruit businesses. This role works closely with executive leadership to align people practices with business needs, support growth, maintain compliance, and help foster a strong workplace culture. The Senior HR Manager will oversee key HR functions such as employee relations, talent management, workforce planning, and leadership development, while helping ensure consistency across locations. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with the judgment, presence, and practical experience to support leaders, build trust, and strengthen the organization over time.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Assist the Human Resources Director with leading people operations across multiple sites and affiliated entities, ensuring alignment with business goals and day-to-day operational needs.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to senior leadership by providing guidance on organizational structure, workforce planning, employee relations, risk management, and talent strategy.
  • Lead and oversee core HR functions including employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, compensation planning, compliance, training and development, and policy administration.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including wage and hour compliance, leave administration, workplace investigations, and agricultural labor requirements.
  • Develop and improve HR policies, procedures, and programs that support consistency, efficiency, and a positive employee experience across all Cobblestone locations.
  • Oversee and support multi-site HR teams and managers, providing leadership, coaching, accountability, and professional development.
  • Partner with operational leadership to support workforce planning, staffing strategies, succession planning, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Review and approve confidential payroll information with a high level of accuracy and discretion, and provide backup support for payroll processing activities to ensure timely and compliant payroll operations.
  • Lead complex employee relations matters, including investigations, corrective actions, conflict resolution, and performance management processes, while mitigating organizational risk.
  • Support leadership development, performance management, employee engagement, and retention efforts that help create a strong and productive work environment.
  • Support organizational growth, change initiatives, acquisitions, and operational transitions across affiliated entities.
  • Lead or support audits, regulatory reviews, and legal matters related to employment practices and HR compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and workflows to better support the business.
  • Oversee, administer, and drive Open Enrollment activities for all company benefit programs while providing ongoing administration, maintenance, and support of benefit offerings throughout the year, ensuring accurate enrollment processing, employee communication, compliance, and effective program management across the organization.
  • Assist with the development and mentorship of the Human Resources team members by providing coaching, guidance, and professional development opportunities, while partnering with leaders across the organization to support employee performance and strengthen leadership capabilities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive employee and business matters.
  • Perform additional duties and strategic projects as assigned to support the long-term success and sustainability of Cobblestone Fruit and its affiliated entities.


Qualifications and Requirements


  • Strong alignment with Cobblestone Fruit’s values and a commitment to integrity, respect, excellence, and humility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field required; and/or PHR or SPHR certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive Human Resources experience required, including at least 5 years in an HR leadership role supporting multi-site and/or multi-entity operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including California wage and hour laws, leave administration, employee relations, investigations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting operations within agriculture, food production, manufacturing, distribution, or other fast-paced operational environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with executive leadership while balancing business priorities with employee needs.
  • Proven experience leading HR teams, developing people, driving accountability, and building a collaborative work environment.
  • Strong experience handling complex employee relations matters, workplace investigations, corrective actions, organizational change, and conflict resolution.
  • Advanced knowledge of HRIS systems, reporting tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and HR operational processes; experience with system implementations or process improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills with the ability to build credibility and relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
  • Commitment to leadership development, continuous improvement, and building HR practices that can grow with the organization.


Physical Demands and Abilities


  • Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods while reviewing reports, conducting meetings, and managing HR operations.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and operating standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and telephones.
  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, and move throughout office, warehouse, packinghouse, and agricultural field environments to support multi-site operations and employee interactions.
  • Ability to travel between company locations, farming operations, and affiliated entities as needed to support business and operational needs.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move office materials, files, or equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to changing temperatures, noise levels, dust, and production or agricultural conditions.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read detailed documents, computer screens, spreadsheets, and reports, and to observe workplace conditions and employee interactions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically with employees, leadership, vendors, and external partners.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including occasional evenings, weekends, or extended hours to support operational demands, investigations, trainings, or business initiatives.

Salary : $130,000 - $140,000
