Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Plumbing Assistant to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will support skilled plumbers in installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems across various construction sites. Responsibilities
- Assist lead plumbers with pipe installation, pipe threading, and system assembly using hand tools and power tools
- Support in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate installation and repairs
- Help maintain plumbing systems by performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and conducting repairs as directed
- Operate power tools safely in accordance with safety protocols, including welding equipment when necessary
- Contribute to remodeling projects by supporting carpentry tasks and handyman services related to plumbing systems
- Follow building code regulations and safety guidelines during all phases of construction work
- Support the maintenance of plumbing equipment and ensure all tools are properly stored and maintained
Qualifications
- Prior construction experience or familiarity with construction site operations preferred
- Basic knowledge of plumbing systems, pipe installation, and pipe threading techniques
- Experience with welding, power tools, hand tools, and schematics reading is highly desirable
- Understanding of building code compliance related to plumbing and HVAC systems
- Mechanical knowledge related to plumbing system maintenance and repair
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Strong field service skills with a focus on safety, especially power tool safety practices
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and material estimations
- Carpentry or handyman experience is a plus for supporting remodeling projects
- Willingness to learn new skills such as pipe installation techniques or HVAC-related tasks
