About the RoleCoastline Mortgage is seeking a Mortgage Compliance, Processing & LO Support Specialist to join our in-office team in Pasadena, Maryland.
This is a hybrid role within our mortgage brokerage, designed for a well-rounded mortgage professional with experience in company-level compliance, state licensing, regulatory reporting, audits, and loan processing, who enjoys operating across compliance and day-to-day loan operations while growing their ownership and impact as the company scales.
The primary focus of this position is compliance, licensing, reporting, audits, and company data integrity, with mortgage processing and loan officer operational support serving as secondary but essential functions.
This role works closely with the company’s Executive Vice President, supporting multi-state compliance efforts by preparing regulatory reports, organizing audit materials, maintaining company data, and coordinating exam responses, while final review and submission remain with executive leadership.
This is not a big-bank compliance manager role. It is a hands-on, hybrid position for someone who wants to grow into increased ownership of compliance and operations over time.
Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance, Licensing, Audits & Reporting (Primary Function)• Take lead on preparing and coordinating state licensing renewals, annual reports, and quarterly filings
• Assist with multi-state regulatory audits and examinations, including gathering documentation, preparing required materials, and coordinating timelines and responses
• Work directly with the Executive Vice President to support audit readiness and reporting accuracy
• Maintain compliance records, licensing documentation, and regulatory calendars
• Track regulatory deadlines and ensure timely preparation of required submissions
• Support compliance initiatives, documentation, and process improvements
• Help ensure company policies, procedures, and practices align with regulatory requirements
This role prepares and coordinates compliance materials and reporting, while executive leadership provides final review and approval.
Company Data & Operational Oversight• Take ownership of ensuring company data is accurate, complete, and properly entered across internal systems
• Support data integrity related to licensing, compliance, reporting, and loan files
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or process breakdowns and recommend improvements
• Serve as a point of accountability for operational accuracy, organization, and consistency
Loan Officer Support & Operations• Serve as a primary compliance and operational point of contact for loan officers, working collaboratively with the processing team
• Provide guidance and answers to loan officer questions related to documentation, disclosures, and file requirements
• Partner with processors to help ensure loans are structured correctly and move efficiently through underwriting and closing
• Act as an escalation resource for loan officer questions or issues requiring additional experience or compliance insight, including coordinating with lender partners and their designated representatives
• Support consistent communication and alignment between loan officers, processors, lender partners, and leadership
Mortgage Processing & Oversight (Secondary Function)• Process residential mortgage files as needed from application through closing
• Review files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
• Provide support and oversight to junior processors
• Step in as processing support during volume spikes or staffing gaps
Qualifications• 3 years of mortgage industry experience
• Experience in mortgage compliance, licensing, regulatory reporting, and processing
• Prior hands-on experience supporting state licensing, renewals, regulatory reporting, and audit preparation
• Solid understanding of mortgage processing, disclosures, and loan guidelines
• Comfortable working closely with executive leadership
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
• Mortgage brokerage experience preferred
• NMLS familiarity and compliance awareness required
