Duties
- Finish concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, and polishing using hand tools and power tools such as trowels, floats, and mixers.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans to accurately execute concrete finishing tasks according to specifications.
- Install rebar reinforcement and formwork to prepare for concrete pouring, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with safety standards.
- Operate concrete mixers and other heavy equipment safely to facilitate efficient pouring and finishing processes.
- Perform concrete cutting, pouring, and curing activities while adhering strictly to construction workplace safety regulations.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, and other tradespeople on renovation, restoration, and new construction projects.
- Apply finishing techniques such as caulking, stucco application, tile laying, flooring installation, and plastering to achieve desired aesthetic results.
Requirements
- Proven experience working on construction projects involving concrete finishing or related trades such as masonry or carpentry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of tools, power equipment, and heavy machinery used in concrete work.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction specifications accurately.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes related to concrete work is a plus.
- Familiarity with construction safety protocols including OSHA regulations or equivalent workplace safety standards.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as trowels, floats, hammers, saws, and power tools necessary for detailed finishing tasks.
- Experience with rebar installation, formwork construction, concrete pouring techniques, and surface finishing methods like stamping or texturing.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy equipment safely over extended periods.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and follow detailed instructions precisely.
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
