About the Role: Coastal Hope Academy is seeking a dedicated, professional Lead Teacher to join our team. We provide a high-quality, play-based learning environment for children from infancy through school age. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for classroom management, implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, and fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for your students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute daily lessons and activities that support child-led, play-based learning.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and organized classroom environment that meets state licensing and hygiene standards.
- Observe and assess student development, maintaining accurate records and progress reports.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents regarding their child’s daily routines, milestones, and behaviors.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers working within your classroom.
- Ensure full compliance with all state and local childcare licensing regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required (DCF 45-hour introductory training completed or in progress).
- CDA (Child Development Associate) or a degree in Early Childhood Education/related field is highly preferred.
- Proven experience working as a lead or assistant teacher in a licensed childcare facility.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass a Level 2 background screening and drug test.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
