Job Title: Medical Assistant

Location: Middleburg, FL (On-Site) – Coastal Health

Position Overview

Coastal Spine and Pain is seeking a reliable and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team in Middleburg. This position supports providers in delivering high-quality care to patients with spine and pain-related conditions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Assist providers during exams, treatments, and in-office procedures
• Administer injections and medications as directed by the provider (within scope)
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Coordinate patient care, including referrals, authorizations, and follow-ups
• Perform basic clinical tasks such as EKGs, phlebotomy (if applicable), and specimen collection
• Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared
• Provide patient education and instructions as directed by providers
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and office policies
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
• Prior experience in a medical office required; pain management or orthopedic experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with EMR systems and basic computer skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
  
  

Work Environment

This is a full-time, on-site position at our Middleburg clinic. The role requires standing, walking, and assisting patients throughout the day.
