Role Description The Electrician role at Coastal Energy is a full-time hybrid position based in Fort Myers, FL, with some work-from-home flexibility for planning, documentation, and coordination tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems associated with solar roofs, Powerwall units, and related energy equipment in residential and commercial settings. The Electrician will read and interpret electrical plans, perform wiring and panel work, ensure systems comply with local codes and safety regulations, and conduct testing to verify proper operation. The role also involves troubleshooting electrical issues, coordinating with project managers and installers, documenting work performed, and providing clear, respectful communication to customers and team members.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Electricity and Electrical Engineering principles relevant to solar and energy storage systems.
- Hands-on Electrical Work experience, including wiring, panel work, and system installation in residential and/or commercial environments.
- Proficiency in Maintenance & Repair of electrical equipment, with a focus on reliability and safety.
- Demonstrated Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently.
- Valid electrician license or certification in Florida (or ability to obtain), and familiarity with NEC and local electrical codes.
- Ability to work safely at heights and outdoors, and to use standard electrical tools, meters, and test equipment.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently when needed.
- Experience with solar PV, battery storage, or renewable energy systems is preferred but not required.
