- Must have previous experience in a medical setting, prefer at least 3 years
- Prefer experience working with medical insurance
- Adheres to the department policy, time, and attendance guidelines.
- Wears employee ID badge and follows dress code policy.
- Confers with physicians and other staff members to coordinate and schedule new patients by handling dedicated referral line timely.
- Creates charts in Unlimited Financials for new patients in a timely manner.
- Emails/mails new patient forms if time permits.
- Retrieves all hospital consults from computer.
- Obtains and scans records timely and accurately into the patient’s chart.
- Communicates effectively with referring providers office to get necessary medical records per diagnosis.
- Compiles and forwards self-pay report to Accounts Receivable Director timely and accurately.
- Compiles and forwards statistical data on new patients timely.
- Attends staff meetings.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Handles high level of stress.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of insurance industry.
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type correspondence.
- Skill in using computer programs and applications.
- Skill in using calculator.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
