The Class A Truck Driver is responsible for delivering products to Coast Southwest customers quickly, efficiently, and safely. This position requires compliance with company Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations, the Food Safety Modernization Act, and Responsible Distribution code requirements.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Transport and deliver products to customers in a safe, timely manner.
- Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the products are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
- Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
- Assist with arranging and completing tank truck liquid bulk deliveries, including unloading trucks, and pumping transported materials into proper storage tanks.
- Accept payments from customers for delivered items for COD deliveries.
- Adhere to assigned routes and follow time schedules.
- Prepare reports and other documents related to deliveries.
- Operate equipment and machines, such as trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, lift gates, etc.
- Comply with all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and Responsible Distribution (RD) procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintain inventory and storage areas in compliance with cGMP standards, ensuring proper labeling, cleanliness, and documentation.
- General housekeeping duties, ensuring all vehicles and warehouse areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards at all times.
- Work as part of the team to meet overall objectives and company goals.
- Required high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) issued by the state of residence.
- HAZMAT endorsement is required and must be current.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT medical card).
- Must be at least 21 years old in compliance with federal and California state driving regulations.
- Must be able to pass a physical examination in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations and California state requirements.
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable truck driving experience; 5 years preferred. A clean driving record with no legal violations or safety-related incidents is required.
- Freight truck driving experience is preferred, including 48’ trailer, 28’ trailer, and Bobtails.
- Must have safety awareness, be dependable, show initiative, and have a quality mindset in all actions.
- Demonstrate a team-oriented, customer-focused approach with a professional, proactive, and mature attitude to collaboratively achieve company safety and financial goals.

- Ability to verbally communicate both in person and via telephone.
- Ability to utilize safety equipment, including but not limited to respirators, safety glasses, back belts, etc.
- Ability to utilize and operate various production equipment, including but not limited to mixers, monitoring equipment, scales, meters, valves, hoses, etc.
- Ability to utilize various office equipment, including computer, telephone, fax machine, and copy machine.
- Job function requires high physical demand. Lift to 50 lbs., ability to move or handle boxes, bags, drums, and totes as well as assemble and disassemble large pieces of equipment and tanks. All functions may occur daily.
