JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate will be comfortable overseeing the entire operation of the construction site. They should be able to determine and address any risk areas in order to maintain the safety of workers. This candidate should be experienced in communicating project milestones with clients and other parties and be able to establish and maintain a timeline for completion.
Oversee daily operation of construction projects.
Ensure safety, compliance and quality regulations are followed.
Communicate project progress with clients and project managers.
Manage subcontractors and construction site organization.
Ability to update and maintain a 3 week look ahead schedule.
This is a full-time traveling position. The employee will be on the road the majority of the time generally working 10 days on and 4 days off, moving between project locations as assigned. Travel will routinely involve multi-day or multi-week stays.
REQUIRED CRITERIA/EXPERIENCE
5-7 years min. of experience as a superintendent
Manages sub-contractors by scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, and controlling performance, including layout issues.
Meets operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews, implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards, resolving problems.
Meets construction budget by monitoring project expenditures and material reviews; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions alongside Project Manager and other staff.
Accomplishes construction project results by calculating resources required; establishing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating sub-contractors; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems; evaluating and implementing change orders.
Approves construction projects by conducting inspections at critical phases based on review of submittals and project documents.
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with local and federal regulations.
Maintain company reputation by accepting new and different requests, exploring opportunities that may add value to projects and produce accurate material take off for best cost and value.
Maintain clean and orderly jobsite.
Perform weekly safety meetings.
Meets weekly with PM to review project progress, goals, and job schedule.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Professional appearance and attitude, possessing strong verbal and written communication skills to represent Coast Construction Group in a positive and professional manner.
Thorough knowledge of coordination and scheduling
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings accurately.
Proficient at reading, writing, and comprehending contractual legal documents and/or draft addendums.
PC literate for correspondence spread sheet tracking and project management coordination, including basic skills with MS Office. MS Project a plus.
Demonstrates established and consistent methods of multi-tasking abilities and attention to detail.
