THE PERFECT CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in estimating commercial construction projects, a strong understanding of industry’s best practices, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors in a collaborative and supportive team culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reads and interprets drawings, specifications and RFQ documents for prospective projects.
- Responds timely and thoroughly to bid requests, ensuring bid packages are complete and consistent.
- Develops labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor estimates for prospective projects and develops estimates incorporating all costs for review by company leadership.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, material prices, and industry trends.
- Track historical cost data to improve future estimates.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Develop preliminary work schedules.
- Highly involved with project team’s preconstruction and early construction handoffs.
- Maintains a high degree of integrity, loyalty and honesty by not divulging confidential information pertaining to Coast’s operations or bids.
- Seeking new work opportunities or improving existing systems or processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management/10 years of commercial construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Proven expertise with estimating/accounting software (e.g., Sage, Bluebeam, Building Connect or other project management software).
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite.
