What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Technician position at Coarsegold Resource Conservation District?
The Coarsegold Resource Conservation District (CRCD) is currently seeking applications for a motivated Field Technician to join our team. This position is 100% grant funded and is a flexible 20-25 hour/week, Tuesday-Saturday schedule. Some evening meetings may be required. There is potential for this to grow into a full-time position. This position will be both remote and include weekly travel to project sites & Firewise communities within Eastern Madera County (Coarsegold, Oakhurst, North Fork, Bass Lake, O'neals, Madera, etc.). Examples of duties include, but are not limited to, assisting Program Manager with project site prep/implementation/maintenance, assisting with outreach and education events, and organizing/attending CRCD meetings as well as partner meetings. Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 1-2 Years Experience in related field
- Must live within or near Eastern Madera County for travel & familiarity purposes
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Physical Ability to stand/sit for extended periods of time
- Must be able to handle occasional work within inclement weather
- Must have access to reliable internet and phone service
- Must Pass Background check & Drug Screening prior to start date
- Must have valid CA Drivers License, proof of insurance, & Clean DMV record
Preferred Skills
- Ability to work both independently and as a team.
- Ability to work productively without supervision
- Be adaptable. We are grant funded and constantly evolving
- Comfortable interacting with all members of the community
- Ability to work proficiently without supervision
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Power Point, experience
- Comfortable with Public Speaking
- Knowledge of resource conservation
- Knowledge of wildfire mitigation
- Experience in Fuel Reduction Techniques
