Position Summary
Co-Tronics is seeking an experienced 3rd Shift Lead to oversee production operations in our plastic injection molding facility. This is a working lead position that combines hands-on technical responsibilities with team leadership. The ideal candidate will be actively involved in mold changes, machine setup, processing, troubleshooting, and production support while ensuring operators work safely, efficiently, and produce quality parts.
The Shift Lead will be responsible for maintaining production schedules, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement efforts throughout the shift.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform mold changes, mold setups, and machine startups.
- Troubleshoot molding processes, machine and auxiliary equipment issues, and production concerns.
- Monitor and optimize injection molding processes to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Assist with machine adjustments and process improvements to reduce scrap and downtime.
- Lead and support production operators throughout the shift.
- Assign personnel to production lines and ensure adequate staffing coverage.
- Communicate shift performance, equipment issues, and production updates to management and incoming shifts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Mold setting and troubleshooting experience required.
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience in a production environment.
- Experience reading and following work instructions, setup sheets, and quality documentation.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and communicate effectively with production employees.
- Basic computer skills for production reporting and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Plastic injection molding experience preferred.
- Experience processing injection molding machines.
- Experience with robotic automation and auxiliary equipment.
- Previous supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience.
- Forklift certification or willingness to become certified.
