Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pain Management Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate pain levels and treatment efficacy.
- Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in developing individualized pain management plans.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding pain management strategies and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform procedures such as suturing, spinal taps, and catheterization as needed.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives related to pain management therapies.
- Ensure proper triage of patients based on their pain levels and medical history.
- Engage in case management activities to facilitate continuity of care.
Requirements
- Valid NP license in the state of NY.
- Experience in acute care settings, including hospitals, emergency rooms, or critical care units.
- Familiarity with pain management techniques and therapies.
- Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for accurate medical documentation.
- Proficiency in using EHR systems for patient management.
- Strong assessment skills with the ability to perform physical examinations and vital sign monitoring.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment while demonstrating excellent communication skills.
