Pre-Construction Estimator

The services we specialize in include: Micropiles, Vibratory-Stone Columns, Helicals, Rigid Inclusions, and Aggregate Piers. We are looking to add a Pre-Construction Estimator to assist in our estimating department. This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly growing, family-owned and oriented company.

The Estimator will play a crucial role in managing both the construction and financial aspects of multiple projects. This position involves qualifying projects for bidding, estimating costs, budgeting, and securing contracts. They will ensure the highest quality standards are maintained while overseeing the financial aspects of the project and enforcing quality construction safety practices to complete projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Estimation: Analyze bid drawings, specifications, and contract documents to prepare accurate estimates. Perform quantity take-offs from blueprints and utilize company estimating software to determine bid prices.
• Budgeting and Cost Tracking: Prepare and submit detailed budget estimates and cost tracking reports, ensuring accurate financial management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Project Qualification: Assess and qualify potential projects for bidding opportunities, ensuring alignment with company capabilities and strategic goals.
• Contract Management: Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.
• Miscellaneous Tasks: Perform other related duties as needed to support project success and company objectives.

Qualifications:

• Collaborating with upper management to finalize the work to be done
• Ability to work with Business Development Team frequently
• Proven experience as a Project Estimator, particularly in the construction industry, with a focus on foundation services.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and using estimating software.
• Strong understanding of project budgeting and cost management principles.
• Excellent negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of construction safety practices and regulations.
• Bachelor’s Degree, higher education, and/or relevant job/industry experience required for this position
