What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Geotechnical Engineer position at CMT Technical Services?
CMT is looking for a senior geotechnical engineer who can work in a leadership role within our geotechnical division in Utah.
Responsibilities:
- Develop proposals and determine cost and schedule for investigations.
- Provide direction to technical team in field inspection activities. Interact with customers and team members to complete the assigned projects on-time.
- Evaluate team performance and determine training needs to meet performance objectives. Maintain existing client relationships and develop new client relationships.
- Develop and execute marketing strategies.
- Plan and conduct geotechnical exploration programs effectively.
- Perform field and environmental investigations for construction projects.
- Analyze geotechnical findings, perform appropriate calculations and prepare technical reports for review by other senior geotechnical engineers.
- Perform basic office administration tasks when needed.
Required Skills:
- Master of science in Geotechnical Engineering, or related field. ∙
- Minimum ten years of related work experience within the State of Utah.
- Proficient in soil mechanics.
- Must have detailed knowledge of both geotechnical and material testing/special inspection services.
- Must have existing client/revenue base for both geotechnical and material testing/special inspection services.
- Able to creatively apply engineering principals to solve new problems. ∙
- Good written and verbal communication skills. ∙
- Able to work effectively in teams. ∙
- Valid Utah professional license (P.E.)

Salary : $95,000 - $120,000
