What are the responsibilities and job description for the ICC Bolting/CWI Welding Special Inspector position at CMT Services Group?
CMT Services Group a privately owned WBE Engineering Firm is seeking full time ICC or CWI Special Inspector for_ vertical building construction_ to be based from our West Conshohocken, PA office. This candidate MUST have a minimum of 5 years experience in this field, or possess applicable ICC and/or CWI certifications, and be comfortable working at heights. Essential job functions include, but are not limited to: Performing testing and inspection during the construction process at the project site or in the fabrication shop in accordance with project plans and specifications as well as local code requirements.
Successful Candidate should have pride in their work and a strong desire to be part of a growing team of professionals. This candidate will be required to transmit typed daily field reports documenting work performed by the various contractors and indicating compliance/non-compliance with contract documents, as well as cast field samples of concrete, masonry, grout, etc. for strength verification, while being able to read plans and specifications and be a self starter. In addition, COMMUNICATION is a MUST! Discussions with Site Foreman and Superintendents to resolve site issues, as well as being expected to provide daily phone calls to department manager to inform of daily progress of the project.

Job Requirements:
Basic qualifications: High School Diploma
3 years of relevant professional experience required
Possess physical strength, stamina and dexterity for repeatedly lifting and moving, stooping, bending, climbing and standing in varying weather conditions at various remote construction sites with varying terrain
Required to possess CURRENT:
Current ICC Certifications in at least one of the following: Structural Bolting, Welding OR AWS - CWI
Current - MT, PT, UT certifications a plus
Comfortable working at heights
Adhere to site specific safety standards
Ability to travel to local and occasionally out of town sites, with short notice
Ability to read and interpret maps and directions as well as project specifications & plans
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds without assistance
Must be able to pass project specific drug screenings
Must be able to pass Government required background check
