What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fine Gardener position at CMS Landscape?
Fine Gardener | CMS Landscape | Pocasset, MA
CMS Landscape is looking for a thoughtful, detail-oriented fine gardener to join our team caring for high-end residential properties across Cape Cod.
This is a role for someone who genuinely loves plants. Someone who finds satisfaction in a well-edited perennial border, knows how to prune with intention rather than habit, and cares about the long-term health of a garden, not just how it looks on the day they leave.
What you'll be doing
Day to day, you'll be the hands-on steward of ornamental gardens, perennial beds, and seasonal plantings at some of the Cape's most beautiful properties. That means planting, weeding, edging, pruning, deadheading, mulching, staking, watering, and seasonal cleanup, along with seasonal container installations and annual color displays. You'll also be keeping an eye on plant health, flagging potential pest, disease, irrigation, or soil concerns before they become problems.
You'll work closely with our production and maintenance teams, and you'll be representing CMS on client properties, so professionalism and pride in your work matter.
What we're looking for
Prior experience in fine gardening, horticulture, landscaping, or nursery work is preferred, though we care more about your passion for plants and your eye for detail than your resume. An interest in ecological gardening, soil health, and sustainable practices is a genuine plus here. We practice what we preach.
A valid Massachusetts driver's license is preferred. You should be comfortable working outdoors in all conditions and able to lift, bend, kneel, and navigate uneven terrain throughout the day.
What we offer
Health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with match, and paid time off. More than that, you'd be joining a team that takes its work seriously and takes care of the people doing it.
CMS Landscape has been caring for Cape Cod properties for over 50 years. We're a family-owned company, and fine gardening is a meaningful part of who we are and where we're headed.
If this sounds like the kind of work you want to do, we'd love to hear from you.
