Position Summary
The Social Media Specialist is responsible for developing, writing, and administering engaging content across multiple social media platforms to build brand awareness, grow audience engagement, and strengthen community presence within the firearms industry.
This role supports strategic marketing initiatives, product launches, ambassador programs, and brand campaigns while managing daily community interactions. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about the firearms industry, with strong copywriting skills and the ability to analyze social performance metrics.
This is an on-site position.
Core Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Creation
- Develop and calendarize 4–5 posts per week per brand.
- Write compelling copy aligned with brand voice and campaign goals.
- Design posts that sustain audience curiosity and create excitement around new products.
- Maintain consistent posting schedules and timelines.
- Research trends and audience preferences to inform content direction.
- Propose new ideas and concepts for social media marketing.
Campaign & Product Launch Support
- Collaborate on seasonal marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives.
- Support pre-launch hype and post-launch engagement efforts.
- Promote sales, restocks, and promotional campaigns.
- Assist with copywriting for email and paid advertising campaigns.
Brand Ambassador & Influencer Integration
- Integrate ambassador-created content into brand platforms.
- Evaluate ambassador deliverables and engagement performance.
- Support social growth giveaways and promotional campaigns.
Community Management
- Monitor and respond to comments, direct messages, and online reviews.
- Coordinate customer concerns with Customer Service.
- Foster positive engagement and encourage audience participation.
- Maintain a professional and brand-aligned voice in all interactions.
Analytics, Reporting & Optimization
- Establish social benchmarks and KPIs for each brand.
- Create monthly dashboards analyzing engagement, growth, and performance metrics.
- Analyze audience insights and recommend strategic improvements.
- Monitor SEO trends, keyword research, and analytics (Google Analytics knowledge preferred but not required).
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
- Work closely with Marketing Manager and internal teams.
- Remain connected to team objectives while working independently.
- Support brand-specific initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- 0–2 years of relevant experience
- Experience managing business social media accounts
- Experience in a manufacturing or regulated industry environment
Skills and Attributes

Requirements

Working & Physical Requirements
This internship operates primarily in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility, with periodic exposure to typical production environments including noise from machinery, airborne particulates or dust, varying ambient temperatures, industrial lighting, odors, vibrations, mechanical/chemical hazards, and occasional confined spaces or outdoor areas with unstable ground and some climbing.
Physical Demands
The essential functions of this role require the ability to:
- Remain in a stationary position (standing or sitting) for extended periods, with frequent standing comprising 60% or more of the shift.
- Move about the facility to access work areas, equipment, materials, and operations (including walking, traversing uneven surfaces, and occasional stair climbing).
- Position self to perform tasks, which may include frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching (overhead, forward, and to the sides), and twisting at the waist—at a minimum of 50% of the shift.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, move, transport, position, install, or remove materials, tooling, parts containers, or equipment weighing up to 40 pounds regularly, and occasionally heavier loads with assistance or mechanical aids.
- Perform repetitive motions, including fine motor tasks such as gripping, reaching, pulling, turning, torquing fixtures, using hand tools, operating machinery, or assembling/machining/testing parts.
- Demonstrate proficient manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for detailed part inspection, blueprint reading, CAD work, testing, or technical documentation.
- Maintain visual acuity to inspect fine details on parts, read blueprints/instructions/reports, identify defects, and discern colors/shades as needed (including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and ability to adjust focus).
- Operate in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities while following detailed instructions, safety protocols, and engineering standards.
Work Environment & PPE
- Frequent exposure to manufacturing hazards such as moving machinery, forklifts, excessive noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, humidity, heat sources, and shop lighting.
- Required to wear and properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated for the area or task, including (but not limited to) safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection when on the manufacturing floor. Additional PPE (e.g., safety footwear, gloves, or respirators) may be required depending on specific assignments or department.
