Job Summary
The Production Assembler is responsible for assembling and disassembling components, sub-systems, and assemblies across multiple production areas. This role ensures all products are built according to engineering prints, production aides, and quality standards.
The Production Assembler maintains a clean and safe work environment while producing high-quality finished goods in a timely and accurate manner. This position requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Shipping, Quality Control, and other Production departments.
Key Responsibilities
Assembly & Production Operations
- Assemble components, sub-assemblies, and finished goods according to engineering prints and work instructions.
- Disassemble assemblies as required for rework or modifications.
- Ensure items are properly assembled, labeled, and prepared for downstream processes.
- Assemble small miscellaneous parts and package in labeled bags with barcodes.
- Produce work in a safe and timely manner.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Quality Control & Accuracy
- Inspect products for defects, damage, and accuracy.
- Verify quantities and product types match order documentation.
- Ensure serial numbers match corresponding products when applicable.
- Report and replace defective items to Department Head immediately.
- Conduct frequent checks of quality and quantity during production.
- Follow all documented engineering prints and production aides.
Inventory & Material Control
- Perform daily cycle counting of assigned areas.
- Verify accuracy of materials before and after assembly.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Identify discrepancies and report to appropriate personnel.
Workplace Organization & Safety
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times.
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Handle materials safely and responsibly.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with Shipping, QC, and other departments.

Essential Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- On-the-job training provided
- Prior manufacturing experience helpful but not required

Working & Physical Conditions
- This job is operated in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
- Work is primarily standing (90% of the shift) except for lunch and break periods.
- Fast-paced manufacturing/warehouse setting.
- The duties of this job normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing environment. Frequent standing, sitting, stooping/squatting, walking, and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum of 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
- Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, ability to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools to torque fixtures in various machinery or in the assembly, machining, or testing of parts.
- Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to focus on fine print.
- You must wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
