DESCRIPTION
The Detention Equipment Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of a complete detention equipment system including glazing, doors, frames, hardware and detention furnishings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Constant and thorough communication with project management team and vendors
- Anticipate issues in advance and problem solve in a timely manner to keep the project moving forward
- Interpret architectural and engineering drawings with accuracy and translate design information into applied methods and materials in the field for successful completion of the project
- Compile all required submittal documentation for submission to the project architect, consultant, or owner
- Compile detailed design drawings to effectively communicate the design to internal and external members of the project team
- Create and submit RFI’s through the project management team to resolve inconsistencies in the contract documents or design intent
- Design systems that are cost effective, efficient, and reliable for both the company and the customer
- Support project team to procure all detention equipment for field activities
- Schedule and conduct project reviews with the project management team and vendors to ensure compliance with the design intent and all schedules are being adhered to
- Lift up to 20lbs
- Travel to various projects as assigned and as is reasonable
- Perform basic office duties, including typing, copying, emailing, etc.
- May be required to work outside of normal business hours, as dictated by project needs
- Communicate regularly and effectively as appropriate
- Maintain the standards, culture and values of CML Security
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related industry experience required
- 1-2 Years of related experience preferred
- Strong skills in Microsoft Suite of Software, Microsoft Project, Adobe or Bluebeam, Timberline or similar accounting software required
- AutoCAD and Revit experience preferred
- Construction knowledge preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
- OSHA-10 certification
Pay: $55,000-$75,000 a year
Expected Fill Date: March 2026
Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen
