Residential & Light Commercial Electrician
Location: Elizabethtown, KY (and surrounding Hardin County area) Job Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We're looking for a skilled and reliable Electrician to join our team serving homeowners and small businesses in Elizabethtown, KY and the surrounding communities. You'll handle a mix of residential and light commercial electrical work, from troubleshooting and repairs to new installations, upgrades, and small build-outs, while delivering excellent customer service on every job.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, panels, and equipment in residential and light commercial settings (offices, retail spaces, small warehouses, restaurants, etc.)
- Diagnose electrical issues and provide effective, code-compliant solutions
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and specifications
- Install and upgrade circuit breaker panels, outlets, switches, and lighting systems
- Perform commercial tenant build-outs, including wiring for lighting, power distribution, and equipment hookups
- Install and service 3-phase power systems, sub-panels, and commercial-grade lighting/controls where applicable
- Perform electrical safety inspections and ensure all work meets Kentucky electrical code, local permitting requirements, and any applicable commercial building codes
- Respond to service calls in a timely, professional manner
- Communicate clearly with homeowners and business clients about findings, recommendations, and pricing
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time on each job
- Keep service vehicle and tools organized, stocked, and well-maintained
- Follow all safety protocols on the job site
Qualifications
- Active Kentucky electrical license (Journeyman or Master Electrician preferred) issued through the KY Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction
- Minimum [1–3] years of hands-on electrical experience in residential and/or light commercial settings
- Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), Kentucky Residential Code, and applicable commercial code requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in attics, crawl spaces, ceilings, and other tight or elevated areas
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the Elizabethtown/Hardin County service area
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience with 3-phase systems, commercial lighting controls, or tenant build-outs
- Experience with smart home systems, EV charger installation, or generator hookups
- Previous experience in a customer-facing service role
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
