Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components according to detailed technical drawings and specifications. Duties
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate and assemble metal components.
- Perform various welding processes including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes.
- Use measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, shop math, and other precision tools to ensure accurate dimensions and fit-up of parts.
- Operate fabrication shop equipment including oxy/acetylene torches, plasma cutters, mag drills, saws, and lifting equipment.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols, including rigging procedures, proper use of power tools, hand tools, and welding safety equipment.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks, mechanical fabrication projects, and construction site requirements when applicable.
- Conduct quality inspections using schematics and technical drawings to verify that finished products meet specifications.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by maintaining accurate documentation of work performed and participating in safety training sessions.
Skills
- Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret mechanical blueprints accurately.
- Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and shop math for precise fabrication work.
- Ability to operate power tools safely including oxy/acetylene torch, plasma cutters, grinders, drills, saws, etc.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding environments including proper handling of gases and shielding materials.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics efficiently.
- Experience working with forklift trucks or other material handling equipment is advantageous.
