Duration : 1 year plus extensions
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mortgage Specialist to join our team. As a Mortgage Specialist, you will be responsible for processing and managing mortgage loans, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines. Your role will involve working closely with borrowers, loan officers, and underwriters to facilitate smooth and efficient loan transactions.
Duties:
- Process mortgage loan applications, including reviewing documentation, verifying information, and ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Conduct credit analysis to assess borrower's financial status and determine loan eligibility
- Collaborate with loan officers to gather necessary information and resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Prepare loan files for underwriting review, ensuring all required documents are included
- Coordinate with title companies, appraisers, and other third parties to obtain necessary information for loan processing
- Monitor loan pipeline to ensure timely completion of all tasks and adherence to deadlines
- Maintain accurate records of all loan transactions and update databases as needed
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and guidelines related to mortgage lending
Experience:
- Previous experience in mortgage processing or related roles within the financial services industry
- Strong knowledge of mortgage servicing processes, including loan origination, contract review, and compliance requirements
- Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations and other applicable laws governing mortgage lending practices
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software for data entry, document management, and record keeping
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform accurate 10-key typing
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct credit analysis and perform basic math calculations
