This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate effectively with clients to resolve outstanding debts. As a Collection Agent, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization by ensuring timely payments and managing accounts receivable.
Responsibilities
- Manage and collect outstanding debts from clients, focusing primarily on medical collections.
- Conduct account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy in billing and payments.
- Utilize financial software to track accounts payable and receivable efficiently.
- Communicate with clients via phone, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Negotiate payment arrangements with clients while adhering to company policies and regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10, and medical terminology to facilitate accurate billing processes.
- Collaborate with the revenue cycle management team to streamline collection processes.
- Provide detailed reports on collection activities and account statuses as required.
Skills
- Proficient in financial concepts, accounting principles, and relevant software applications.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Familiarity with telemarketing techniques and effective communication strategies.
- Ability to analyze accounts accurately using math skills for debits & credits management.
- Knowledge of revenue cycle management practices is highly desirable.
