Job Overview
Cloudy Monkey is a specialty coffee and beverage kiosk opening at Shoppes at Buckland, built around bold flavors, a strong visual identity, and a loyalty experience that keeps customers coming back. As a Barista, you'll be the face of the brand, the person who turns a quick coffee run into a moment worth posting about. You'll craft drinks, finish commissary-prepped food to order, and deliver the kind of fast, friendly service that builds a regular customer base from day one.
Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso drinks, specialty beverages, and seasonal "drop" items to recipe and presentation standards
- Finish commissary-prepped food items to order, following food safety protocols
- Greet and engage customers, take orders, and process payments accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked workstation throughout each shift
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures (proper handwashing, temperature control, allergen awareness)
- Educate customers on menu items, loyalty program tiers, and current drops
- Restock inventory and flag low supplies to management
- Handle basic opening and closing duties (cash drawer, equipment cleaning, prep)
- Represent the Cloudy Monkey brand voice and energy in every interaction
Qualifications
- Friendly, outgoing personality with genuine enthusiasm for customer service
- Reliable and punctual with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable multitasking during rushes without sacrificing quality or accuracy
- Basic math skills for handling cash and making change
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs (stocking supplies)
- Weekend and/or morning availability strongly preferred
- No prior barista experience required, full training provided
- Food Handler certification a plus, not required at time of hire (training provided if needed)
- Must be 16 years old (18 preferred for tasks involving cash handling and closing shifts)
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
