· Shift: 2nd Shift Mon–Fri 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM OT weekends
· Pay: $25.00/-
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Tool/Mold Maker to join our client’s Tooling Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for manufacturing, repairing, modifying, and maintaining aluminum tools and molds used in production. This role requires hands-on experience with machine shop equipment, welding, blueprint reading, and preventative maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Construct aluminum tools and molds from rough castings to production-ready condition using lathes, milling machines, drills, welding equipment, and hand tools.
- Read blueprints and follow specifications to fabricate, repair, and modify tools and molds.
- Install required plumbing on tools and molds.
- Complete work orders in ITS2 and TQR documentation for new tools, along with all required forms.
- Follow tooling repair and preventative maintenance (PM) schedules.
- Troubleshoot tool and mold defects, including tooling issues on production presses when required.
- Plan layouts and construct jigs and other tooling components as needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following PPE and housekeeping requirements.
- Participate in team training, continuous improvement initiatives, and the 5S program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in tool repairs, modifications, and fabrication using aluminum and carbon steel.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in operating machine shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, radial drills, and aluminum and steel welding equipment.
- Experience using hand tools and equipment required for tool/mold plumbing.
- Ability to plan, organize, and complete jobs independently, ensuring all required work is finished.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Must pass a measurement test.
- Must have steel-toed boots.
- Commitment to workplace safety, teamwork, and quality standards.
