Cloud Cabin Arts specializes in quality custom cabinetry and is dedicated to precision, excellence, and continuous improvement. I currently operate solo, but increased sales have made it necessary to expand my team. I’m looking for a motivated and dependable individual to fill the position of Cabinetmaker/Woodworker.
Job Overview:
- Schedule: Full-time Monday-Friday (40 hours per week) with occasional overtime when necessary.
- Location: Primarily at the shop in Waynesboro, with installations typically within 30 minutes of Charlottesville.
- Experience: This skilled position requires previous experience with woodworking or cabinet making tools and equipment. Experience may come from professional work, personal projects, trade school, or a combination of these. If you lack hands-on experience with the required tools, this position will not be a good fit.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties related to the daily operation of the shop, including maintaining cleanliness, organizing supplies and materials, and routine machine maintenance.
- Handle all aspects of production, including millwork, assembly, finishing, and installation.
Specific Duties:
- Understand and follow shop standards and production techniques to fabricate and install projects to specification.
- Set up, use, maintain, and repair machines and tools such as saws, millwork machinery, routers, nail guns, sanders, etc.
- Demonstrate proper safety procedures and ensure a safe working environment.
- Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Contribute ideas for process improvements to help develop a lean manufacturing culture.
- Adapt to new responsibilities as projects and the company evolve.
Essential Qualifications:
- Previous woodworking and/or manufacturing experience, whether from professional work, personal projects, or trade school.
- Able to read and follow drawings and cutlists accurately.
- Proactive approach to understanding and improving production processes.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Able to lift 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
- Able to read a tape measure fluently.
- Able to pass a background test.
