Overview:
We are seeking a local UX Engineer who will support our Albany, NY client to support the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of client-facing / internal applications that advance public-sector initiatives. The UX Engineer will collaborate with stakeholders, researchers, designers, and developers to translate business needs into accessible, multi-device user experiences supported by research, prototyping, usability testing, and UX metrics.
Duties:
- Consult with stakeholders to understand business goals and translate business needs into user-centered solutions.
- Collaborate as part of a team of problem solvers to address complex business issues from strategy through execution.
- Design, develop, and implement client-facing and internal applications and technology tools that support strategic initiatives.
- Apply enterprise architecture principles across application areas to build delivery models that align capabilities with business needs.
- Use multiple sources of information, including broader stakeholder perspectives, to develop solutions and recommendations.
- Address defects and enhancements throughout the application support lifecycle and participate in post-implementation incident resolution as required.
- Create and execute user research plans, including surveys, interviews, and focus groups, and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Plan and facilitate design thinking workshops, including journey mapping and user needs modeling.
- Create UX deliverables, including user models and scenarios, sketches, user stories, user flows, wireframes, storyboards, and sitemaps.
- Create and iteratively refine interactive user experience prototypes that require coding.
- Plan and conduct usability testing, analyze user feedback and activity, and iterate on designs to improve the user experience.
- Work closely with developers to bring designs to life and continuously improve delivered solutions.
- Collect quantitative and qualitative UX metrics to support usability validation.
- Assist with content development and design experiences for multi-device web, iOS, and Android environments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 4 years of experience as a UX Engineer.
- 5 years of experience of UI/UX engineering experience across the full lifecycle of design deliverables, including wireframes, mockups, journey maps, prototypes, storyboards, and user surveys.
- 1 years of experience working in an Integrated Eligibility System program across various workstreams in a Health and Human Services setting.
- 1 years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Figma.
- 1 years of experience with user research, user modeling, and usability testing.
- 1 years of experience with CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript.
