Description:

In addition, the candidate audits CSI equipment and advises how to improve performance and reliability. The candidate also responds to customer's requests for fast resolution of problems with CSI’s equipment, sometimes on an emergency basis. At the customer's request, the candidate will either troubleshoot and repair the equipment or provide direction and / or training to customer’s personnel to do the necessary work to repair the equipment. 

The ability to work with minimal supervision is required. This position will interact with all of Machinery’s customers; timely responsiveness, follow up, and maintaining accountability are required as well. Establishing and maintaining working relationships with the CSI global manufacturing network is vital to this position. Travel is mandatory (up to 30% of the time), and it will include both domestic and international travel.

The candidate will comply with all CSI safety policies, procedures and standards. This position requires application of international and domestic electrical controls design standards relative to circuit’s device protection, grounding safety, panel space utilization, thermal treatment and avoidance of electrical interference. The candidate will uphold and abide by CSI’s safety values. 
 

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. The Machinery Field Engineer, Electrical and Mechanical performs various Machinery electrical engineering work, as well as mechanical work related to CSI’s equipment: molding, lining, and scoring machines. Installing electrical control upgrades and conversions, developing and revising electrical schematics & BOMs, downloading electrical programs, performing various mechanical assembly and troubleshooting work, etc.
2. Using high precision instruments, fixtures and gauges, the candidate performs required machine staging procedures to ensure equipment is built and setup to engineering specifications.
3. This position performs maintenance activities to CSI’s production equipment, including installation of electrical and mechanical upgrades, as well as refurbishment / rebuild of used machines.
4. The candidate will troubleshoot, diagnose, identify root-causes, and propose solutions that improve performance and reliability of CSI’s equipment. The candidate acts as a technical resource for the Machinery Customer Service team.

Educational and Other Skill Requirements:

• BS degree in electrical engineering with controls emphasis & 3 years of mechanical experience; OR the equivalent experience in the field of electronics and control systems & mechanical work.  

• Thorough understanding of mechanical equipment, circuit analysis, electronics, control systems, signals, power distribution, PLC’s, microprocessors and communication systems is required.

• Ability to develop and revise engineering schematics using AutoCAD, and ability to write program codes for PLCs, HMIs, and servo controls are required.

• Must have very good working mechanical knowledge and be able to assemble and troubleshoot equipment.  

• Strong team and interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate others with enthusiasm and drive.

• Good organizational & prioritizing skills

Work Schedule: 8-hour days, with occasional after-hours work.

PPE: ANSI Z41 approved safety shoes, hearing and eye protection as appropriate for work area, gloves according to work task, and other PPE as assigned and required.

Tools and Equipment: Various computer software, shop tools, fixtures and gauges, and electrical equipment required for specific electrical tasks.
