Overview
Seeking to hire a Dog Walker and Pet/House Sitter, where your passion for animals and dedication to exceptional care will shine! This position requires weekly dog walks for three dogs (2 Chocolate Lab mixes and 1 Aussie) and in-home pet sitting at least once per month. This position guarantees regular employment as described, seeking candidates who live locally and have no immediate relocation plans. Past experience, references and reliability are required.
Responsibilities
- Once per week, take three dogs on a 30 minute walk to develop a relationship with the dogs.
- Provide attentive pet sitting services, including feeding, administering medication, and maintaining routines including daily outdoor play.
- Offer overnight care in our home to ensure pets feel comfortable and secure during their owners’ absence. This is not a position allowing multiple check-ins during the day. This position requires the sitter to be home with the dogs at least part-time during the day and during the evening and overnight.
- Demonstrate proper dog handling and training techniques.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about their pets’ needs, behaviors, and any concerns.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment during all pet care activities, including outdoor clean-up when necessary.
Requirements
- Prior experience in dog training, animal handling, and pet care is required.
- Ability to handle large dogs confidently.
- Experience with pet exercise routines and animal behaviors.
- Comfortable performing outdoor play in various weather conditions.
- Excellent client communication skills to provide updates and address owner questions.
- Reliable transportation.
