A venture capital firm in Newton, MA is looking to hire an experienced Corporate Attorney on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will bring Big Law corporate experience focusing in the VC, PE, M&A, and general corporate governance space. This role offers an ideal transition for an accomplished Big Law associate or senior corporate attorney seeking an impactful in-house career with a predictable workweek.
This role is onsite Monday - Thursday and can work remotely on Fridays.
Responsibilities
- Structure, draft, negotiate, and close venture capital financing rounds, private equity investments, and M&A deals.
- Partner directly with senior leadership and investment leads to evaluate legal risk, review term sheets, and navigate complex transactions.
- Draft and maintain investment documentation, corporate resolutions, operating agreements, and regulatory filings.
- Provide legal advice in a fast-paced investment advisory environment.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- 6 years of corporate legal experience
- Familiarity with Venture Capital, Private Equity, Securities, and M&A transactions.
- Ability to work onsite Monday through Thursday in Newton, MA office (with remote flexibility on Fridays).
Preference
- Prior in-house venture or PE experience
Salary : $290,000 - $310,000
