Job Description – Womens/Womens Plus Designer (Hybrid Role)
Location: Glendale, CA (In-office to start; hybrid after first month)
Position Type: Full-time
Reports To: Creative Director, with direct collaboration with Founder
Salary: Starts at $80,000 annually (DOE)

We are a fast-growing apparel brand founded by a high-profile creative leader. We currently operate as a DTC business with plans to expand into wholesale in our second year. As a young company transitioning from early-stage startup to structured, scalable business, we are building a team of driven, collaborative individuals who want to influence the future of the brand. Brands we manage include Cloak (relaunching), Iron Lung, and Distractible.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Designer for Womens/Womens Plus who can thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment and collaborate with other creative leads to produce a cohesive line between Men/Unisex and Women/Women Plus categories. This hybrid role blends CAD based apparel design with an ability to give graphics development direction to various artists.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing clean, production-ready CAD sketches
- Mindful apparel design that incorporates both womens and womens plus size garments
- Concepting and refining graphics for apparel and print with graphic artists
- Contacting outside contractors and managing deadlines and commissions
- Presenting line items for review to department leads across entire line
- Willingness to help with company sub brands in a cross functional aspect. *This may include smaller SKU capsules for other Cloak Brand LLC and Markiplier Inc collaborations
- Supporting broader creative and conceptual projects
What You Bring
- Strong technical sketching/illustration ability (vector graphics). Samples of sketch work may be requested for team review.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop are essential)
- Understanding of how graphic prints add to and round out a seasonal line
- Experience with developing print repeats within collections
- Experience developing graphics for print / apparel
- A deep knowledge of fabrics, materials, stitching, trims, etc.
- A sharp eye for layout, composition, and detail
- Clean file management and workflow discipline
Nice to Have
- Studio art or illustration proficiency
- Experience working with outside contractors
- Prior experience with Pantone color systems
Qualifications
- 5 years in Design role in ready
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing an OTB
- Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, forecasting tools)
- Experience using DTC analytics platforms (Shopify experience a plus)
- Strong understanding of sales analysis, inventory flow, and product lifecycle
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with senior leadership
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable making recommendations based on data
