Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry of journal entries, debits & credits, and account analysis using accounting software.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Process payroll and handle accounts payable and receivable with meticulous attention to detail.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions in spreadsheets and accounting systems following GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards.
- Conduct account reconciliation activities including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to ensure all accounts are accurate and up-to-date.
- Prepare financial reports by compiling data from various sources, ensuring clarity and compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist with audit preparations by providing supporting documentation for financial report writing and account analysis tasks.
Skills
- Extensive experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, and other financial software platforms.
- Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles, non-profit accounting practices, and public accounting standards.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), 10 key typing skills, and double-entry bookkeeping techniques.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation efficiently.
- Familiarity with payroll processing procedures and accounts payable/receivable management.
- Deep understanding of financial concepts including GAAP compliance, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and account reconciliation processes.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform 10 key typing accurately under time constraints.
- Strong organizational skills combined with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
