Education Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Coursework in business office/technology preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Physical Requirements
Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
Knowledge of financial and statistical recordkeeping techniques.
Knowledge of modern technology, including computer proficiency, daily use of common software such as Microsoft Office, Internet, Outlook, etc.
Ability to demonstrate correct English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Ability to demonstrate appropriate telephone techniques and etiquette.
Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills including oral and written communication.
Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.
Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
Occasionally requires the ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials.
Occasionally requires the ability to stoop, bend, and reach.
Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.

Work cooperatively with administration and staff throughout the District.
Position Responsibilities
Serve as confidential secretary to the supervising administrator and provide secretarial, clerical, record keeping, organizational and support services.
Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information related to personnel issues, grievances and legal matters affecting the school and district.
Serve as the primary contact person and liaison between the building administrator and parents, students, and the general public.
Work harmoniously with others and communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with a diversity of public and school personnel using tact, courtesy and good judgment.
Screen incoming calls, mail, and visitors received for the school administrator and provide information regarding District policies, procedures or refer to appropriate staff member.
Make arrangements for and handle the scheduling of meetings involving the school administrator and keep the school administrator’s calendar.
Process purchase orders and requisitions assuring proper approvals, code and record the purchase of supplies as required.
Assist in school budget preparations, monitor departmental budget, prepare statistical reports and schedules, notify appropriate personnel of any budget-related concerns.
Compose and type correspondence, memos, documents, reports, agendas, and minutes as assigned.
Act as a friendly ambassador for the Clinton School District.
Work independently prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Perform administrative support functions requiring independent judgment, decision- making and problem-solving.
Deal with and respond to inquiries on a variety of matters and ability to tolerate frequent interruptions to the normal work schedule.
Answer correspondence independently.
Become familiar with, enforce and follow all Board policies, regulations, administrative procedures, other directions given by District administrators and state and federal laws as they affect the performance of job duties.
Dress professionally and in a manner that will not interfere with the educational environment.
Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the school administrator.
