Job Description: Direct Care Staff (Residential)

Full or Part time schedules.

Rate of pay: $19.00 per hour.

Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision is available.

Paid Time Off: PTO is available as well as nine (7) 1 ½ pay Holidays.

Training: CCCC provides paid on-the-job training

Location: Lock Haven and surrounding areas.

A Direct Care Staff in Residential services provides many of the same tasks at work that they would do at home all while directly working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and making a positive impact on their lives. Residential services is built on the principle that every person has the capacity to engage in lifelong learning.

Residential services can easily fit into your schedule as we provided 24-7 hours services and includes Evening, Night, and Weekend shifts. Asleep rate of pay is $15.85 per hour.

General Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Direct Care Staff is responsible for providing care for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Direct Care staff ensures the health, safety and welfare of the individuals they serve. The Direct Care Staff completes regulatory documentation to indicate the progress and needs for individuals served in our program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote and educate person centered planning and positive behavior supports.
  • Attending weekly team meetings and scheduled trainings.
  • Assisting clients with arranging and attending scheduled appointments inside and outside the home.
  • Participating in individualized program meetings.
  • Completion of house accounts.
  • Complete assigned paperwork.
  • Assist the individual in navigating the community and its resources.
  • Assist with budgeting, grocery shopping, planning activities, housekeeping working on all skills necessary to help the individual gain independence in that area.
  • Train in Medication Administration and administer medications as prescribed.
  • Adhere Incident Management implementations and reporting.
  • Adhere to Person Centered Planning and Positive Approaches.
  • Provide the necessary current needs of the individuals based on the Individual Support Plans.
  • Provide services that meet the individual’s health, safety, and welfare needs.
  • Perform timely and accurate record keeping and documentation on the individuals served.
  • Advocate for individuals with Day services, parents, guardians, and administrators.
  • Ensure that individual’s human rights, health, safety, welfare, and dignity are preserved.
  • Assists individuals with direct care services, which may include personal care needs such as eating, drinking, restroom and daily needs.
  • Provide individuals with opportunities to develop community safety skills, as well as enrich their skills academically, socially, recreationally and artistically.
  • Assist the Program Specialist in preparing Individual Support Plans, program planning and assessments.
  • Adhere to the rules and regulations of the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, and the Department of Aging and other regulatory entities.
  • Provide necessary transportation and assistance to clients for appointments and activities.
  • Encourage teamwork with colleagues and individuals to promote a healthy work environment.
  • Follow Chain of Command in reporting issues and concerns and keep the Supervisor informed regarding issues and significant program changes.
  • Comply with all agency policies and procedures as well as, 6100 and 6400 regulations.
  • Complete other duties deemed appropriate by the agency CEO, House Manager or designee.
  • Adhere to all Federal, State, Local and agency guidelines regarding COVID-19 processes and procedures.

Education, Credential, and Experience:

Direct Care Staff must have one of the following criteria:

  • A High School Diploma or a GED Equivalent.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle transportation needs.
  • Must have a physical and TB/Mantoux testing completed prior to employment (every two years thereafter)
  • Satisfactory clearance of a PA State Clearance Background Check (SP4-164) within 1 year of hire and/or FBI criminal Background check if residing out of state or having lived in the Commonwealth of PA less than 2 years.
